River Clean-up Event in St. Charles
Saturday, September 19th!
- It’s Our Fox River Day!
The Conservation Foundation and the River Corridor Foundation of St. Charles are partnering on a volunteer river clean-up event being held Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 9:00 – noon.
Join us at Ferson Creek Park on Rte. 31 to show the Fox River some love!
Plan to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to pick up supplies, and get instructions. Come as a team of 3-5 people or just on your own! We will be sending folks out to pick up trash at several locations along the river. Land side and water side pick-up “teams” are encouraged, and we welcome canoes and kayaks to join the activities!
Please dress accordingly for this event and the weather, bring sturdy gloves, a mask and wear boots or shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. The Conservation Foundation will supply trash bags, grabbers and other trash pick-up tools. Precautions will be taken to insure social distancing. Water will be available.
Pre-registration for the event will be helpful to planning staff but drive-ins that Saturday morning are also welcome! The link to register may be found here: https://friendsofthefoxriver.org/fox-river-day/
“It’s Our Fox River Day” river clean-up events for the 19th are being coordinated by Friends of the Fox River the length of the Fox.
